Okay friends, it is my favorite time of the year – the holiday season!
“It’s the holiday season. And Santa Claus has a got a toy. For every good girl and good little boy…”
I simply cannot say “it’s the holiday season” without singing a little part of that favored tune…
But, back to the reason, you’re reading this…
The holiday season is filled with a few of my favorite things: food, food, and, well…more food. One of these favored foods being dessert!
Typically, cookies are what come to mind…
They are easy and of course, we all know that is what Santa will be looking for when he comes down the chimney.
But, guess what?
I spoke with the jolly old fellow in the red coat earlier this week, and he is game to switch it up this year. So, here are a few options we are considering at our house:
- Peppermint Creme Brulee
Peppermint Creme Brulee from A Spicy Perspective
Have you ever had the peppermint milkshake from Chick-Fil-A? It is simply one of my favorite seasonal treats. So, as soon as I found this idea, I knew it was a must!
Totally a great take on a classic dessert.
- Peppermint Fudge
Easy Peppermint Fudge from The Pioneer WomanCan you tell that I love peppermint yet?
It is flavorful and it just puts me in the holiday spirit…
So, of course, it is only right that it gets paired with chocolate!
- Chocolate Chip Gingerbread Cake Truffles

And, with the chocolate chips, he won’t even know they aren’t cookies!
