It is no secret that today is Thanksgiving – so, happy Thanksgiving everyone! And, yes, I am sitting here stuffing my belly just about as full as it will go. But, with plenty of delicious food surrounding me, how could I just simply let it sit there?
I love the turkey and the Thanksgiving sides, but one thing I love most about holiday parties this time of year is the appetizers. Nothing makes me feel like more of a legit adult than eating appetizers and drinking a glass of wine.
But, I think appetizers might be one of the hardest menu items to decide on when you are either attending a holiday party or hosting one. I can never decide if something is too much, not enough, too filling, not filling enough – you know, just all the usual questions that go through your head when you are contributing food to a party.
But, here is a little cheat sheet with the best holiday appetizers to help you out:
- Stuffed mushrooms
I could eat stuffed mushrooms all day long. I will be honest, they can be a little frustrating to make, just because they can be time-consuming.
But, they are so delicious and so versatile. You can easily make these with meat or vegetarian!
- Bacon wrapped green beans
Oh. My. Gosh. That is just about all I can say everytime I even smell these.
My dad always made these while I was growing up and the way the salty bacon merges so seamlessly with the green bean bundle is just out of this world.
You’ll just have to try them for herself.
I actually made this today for Thanksgiving – an ooey, gooey, pecan-covered cheeseball.
This is an appetizer that is fairly simple to make, saves well, and is oh so tasty.
