Holiday season is upon us and you are bound to receive an invitation or two stating just to “bring yourself”. Although it can be nice just to bring yourself instead of spending hours in the kitchen whipping up a pie or mashing potatoes, I never feel right showing up empty-handed. That is where this list of easy hostess gifts comes in handy.
In this case, I am focusing on my foodie friends. People who love to cook or just love to eat.
Infused Olive Oils
Whenever I am thinking of a gift for someone who loves to cook, I think of infused olive oils. It seems like these shops are starting to pop up everywhere. There are so many different oils to choose from. Some include garlic herb, butter, citrus, and chili oil. You may even be able to find a small gift set from a local artisan.
A delicious box of chocolate truffles is a classic hostess gift. This is perfect for a last-minute gift because you can find a nice box of truffles at just about any store. If you have extra time on your hands, I recommend finding a local shop. I really like to support local small businesses all year long, but it is especially important during the holidays.
A Themed Cookie Cutter
For your baker friend, pick up a themed cookie cutter. There are tons of cookie cutters out there. For Friendsgiving, try a fall leaf shape, a turkey, an apple, or a pumpkin. If you are looking for a general winter theme, you cannot go wrong with a snowflake. Also, a snowman, penguin, hat, candy cane, or reindeer go over really well.
Apple or Pumpkin Butter
A nice jar of apple or pumpkin butter is the perfect seasonal gift. You can make your own or pick one up. Either way, I like to add a pretty bow to make it extra special.
Jam or Jelly
Another bow tied jar gift is jam or jelly. I like to go for either local jelly or something a little unique. Strawberry, apricot, and blueberry are classics. However, it’s fun to try something new. For example, sweet chili jam, peach basil, bacon, or strawberry rhubarb jam.
