I like to think that I am just this exquisite baker, but of course, the kitchen often proves me otherwise and I am left defeated.
However, I still dream of making a three-tier cake with handcrafted fondant and the whole setup. And while everything I do does not always turn out bad, it never hurts to have a few baking tips.
Baking really is a science and you can’t always just follow the recipe. And sometimes, there is still a better way to do things – even if it seems a bit taboo.
So, before you get all flustered trying to get the peaks on that meringue totally perfect, check out these baking tips that might be just what you are looking for:
- Bake your cookie dough in a ramekin.
Yeah, it sounds weird – I know. But, trust me, this is the way to get that big ooie gooie cooking like you can typically only get at a restaurant. It is one you will be eating with a spoon and pairing with a tub of ice cream.
- Bake in pyrex. Every time.
Pyrex pretty much just speaks for itself. Not only are these items incredibly durable, but they just make the perfect crust for any pie. Pyrex is the only way I have found to bake something without burning the bottom but still getting the inside completely cooked.
- Dress your desserts.
We all make mistakes and even the prettiest desserts still have a few flaws in there somewhere. I mean, we can’t all be perfect, right? So, always aim to finish off your desserts with a little icing, a little chocolate drizzle or something of the life. This makes things look even fancier than they are and also gives you a little wiggle room because you can cover up a mistake with just a little flair.
It might not be a complete culinary lesson, but every little bit counts, right?
