If you are anything like me and a true foodie, you don’t discriminate against the part of the meal in which a food item falls. Rather it is the appetizer, main course, a side or even dessert, you are hands down ready to dig your fork (or spoon) in deep.
One of my favorite parts of traveling is getting to try various foods and see what each person eats all the time. For example, I recently lived in California for a short period of time and the difference in cuisine from the south was outrageous. It is funny to learn that just a few states over, a food item you crave daily might actually not even exist.
And, of course, each area has something that is unique to it. For San Diego, it is the California burrito. But, if you are in one of the following countries and your sweet tooth makes an appearance, here are the items you just have to sink your teeth into:
France: Creme Brulee
Do I even need to say anything else? Creme brulee is just such a decadent, not too sweet, and totally fancy dessert. I am a sucker for creme brulee in the United States, so my heart just races at the thought of eating it in France.
America: Apple Pie
Are you adding a slice of cheddar cheese to yours? Maybe not? It really is pretty good, if I do say so myself.
The apple pie is one of those things you could count on your grandmother making and it just tastes like home.
The first time I had this dessert I thought it was a bit dried out…
But, in fact, that is the way it should be. It is a flaky pastry that is also sweet and sticky and can be made in several different flavors. This decadent dessert is the perfect, light finish to a meal.
What would you say is the must-have dessert in your country?
