I recently started a new healthy diet – I mean lifestyle, it is a lifestyle not a diet. Anyways, my typical Instagram feed consists of bakeries, restaurants and breweries around town. Which as you can imagine, this is not too conducive for my diet. It just makes me crave those joyous items I shouldn’t be having, even when I was doing so good.
So in an attempt to find healthier recipes and hopefully keep myself on track, I started digging for the best healthy Instagram accounts to follow. The thing with these is it can’t just be someone who posts a picture of an apple once a week and a few pictures of them in their workout clothes headed to the gym. In order for it to really make a difference for me, I need access to their recipes and them to post pictures that actually makes healthy food look enticing. I mean, I know that sounds impossible, but the right people can do it.
And I’ve actually found that these healthy Instagrams are awesome! They are pleasing photos, inspiring, and actually taste good (yes, I have actually already made a few!). So, for those of you who are trying to jump on the bandwagon, I’ll share the love with you:
In Search of Avocado (@insearchofavocado)
This is my favorite! Every single thing she posts just looks amazing. And, the best part is she makes it look natural – as in that she isn’t just a stay-at-home healthy eater. You know, one of those people that just blogs their healthy food all day. She actually makes it look easy to incorporate healthy living into your normal life.
Hilary’s Eat Well (@hilaryseatwell)
I know, this is a brand not a person. However, they repost other people’s photos and just about everything they post looks tasty! And as an added bonus, it really gives you an idea of how to use their products.
[And p.s., check out my blog post about how yummy their burgers are!]
Why The Health Not (@whythehealthnot_)
Well, that handle alone is cute enough to make me want to follow her. But, it is also motivating because…why the health not?
This account focuses on counting ingredients rather than counting calories – totally up my alley! If you just grab a few healthy ingredients rather than 20 bad ones, you are doing your body a serious favor.
The Delicious (@thedelicious)
Just go look at a few pictures – you guys, these are incredible! The colors and ingredients are just astonishing. While this account is not as good about posting recipes and brands, they are just nice to look at and actually make healthy food look delicious.
